What to Ask Before Hiring a House Cleaner in Moore County
·By Moore Cleaners
Before you hire a house cleaner, it helps to know what the service includes, how the quote works, and what to expect on cleaning day. Here are five questions to ask, with answers about how we work at Moore Cleaners.

1. Are you licensed, insured, and bonded?
Ask a cleaning company about its credentials before you book. You are trusting someone to work in your home and care for your belongings.
Moore Cleaners is licensed, insured, and bonded. We serve homes and churches across Moore County, including Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen, Carthage, Whispering Pines, and Seven Lakes.
2. What is included in a standard clean or a deep clean?
Ask for a checklist so you know which tasks are included. At Moore Cleaners, we use one to agree on the areas you want cleaned, any special requests, and anything you want us to skip.
Our cleaning services cover routine cleaning and more detailed work. This table shows examples from our checklist. Deep cleaning includes the agreed standard tasks plus the selected additions.
| Area | Standard cleaning | Deep cleaning additions |
|---|---|---|
| General | Dust accessible surfaces, vacuum and mop floors, and empty trash cans | Detail baseboards, door frames, window sills, and tracks; clean under furniture |
| Kitchen | Clean countertops, sink, appliance exteriors, stovetop, and microwave interior | Clean oven and refrigerator interiors, and behind small appliances |
| Bathrooms | Clean toilets, sinks, mirrors, showers, and bathtubs | Detail grout, remove soap scum and hard water deposits, and clean vent covers |
| Bedrooms | Dust surfaces, vacuum floors, and make beds or change linens left out | Clean under beds and detail furniture and accessible closet shelving |
During a standard clean, we wipe available surfaces without moving items to clean underneath them. During a deep clean, we move items as part of the agreed work to reach the areas underneath and around them.
The table is a summary. Your selected checklist defines the work for your visit. We discuss the tasks with you before the visit so the cleaning matches your priorities.
3. How do you work out the quote?
Our quotes start with the square footage of your home. We then walk through the property with you to discuss what you need.
During the walkthrough, we review the areas to clean, whether you need standard or deep cleaning, and any tasks you want us to focus on or skip.
This gives us a clear scope for your quote and gives you a chance to ask questions before booking.
4. Do I need to prepare the house or be home?
You do not need to clean before we arrive, and you do not need to be home during the visit. If you will be out, we can discuss access arrangements in advance.
For a standard clean, we work on available surfaces without moving items. For a deep clean, we move items as part of the agreed work to reach the areas underneath and around them.
If you would like us to change your bed linens, please leave out a fresh set.
5. Can I ask you to focus on certain areas?
Yes. Your home may need more attention in some areas than others.
Our checklist has space for special requests and areas to focus on or skip. You can use it to tell us what matters most, whether that is extra attention in the bathrooms, cleaning inside the oven, or leaving a room untouched.
We review these requests with you so you know what to expect.
